A series by Épilepsie Montérégie, in collaboration with UQAC (Université du Québec à Chicoutimi) and LICS (Laboratoire d’innovation en communication scientifique).
Epilepsy – Men’s Perspective series features five episodes exploring different aspects of the lives of men affected by epilepsy. Through heartfelt testimonials, these men address stereotypes of masculinity such as strength, control, provider, autonomy and independence, and how these expectations influence their experiences with the disease.
Three types of testimonials are presented:
- men living with epilepsy,
- men with an affected relative,
- as well as specialist presentations.
The series highlights the impact of the disease on their daily lives, the obstacles they encounter and the challenges they overcome. It also offers practical advice and personal anecdotes, helping to better understand their reality and foster empathy.
