Our Purpose

Break isolation. Offer support. Empower the community.

Since 1987, our organization has been supporting people living with epilepsy and their loved ones across Haute-Yamaska, Brome-Missisquoi, and all of Montérégie. Whether it’s to understand a diagnosis, find resources, or simply feel heard, we are here — every step of the way.

Épilepsie Montérégie is a non-profit organization for awareness, guidance, intervention, promotion and advocacy for people living with epilepsy and their families. This extensive experience has allowed us to develop solid expertise to support people affected by epilepsy and their loved ones.

Our History

Over time…

Mr. Ernest Wossidlo is the founder of Épilepsie Granby et Région Inc., a non-profit organization that took flight in November 1987. Its initial objectives were to generally inform the public about epilepsy and to promote the defense of their rights and interests. Mr. Wossidlo also wished to offer these same individuals a platform to share their experiences.

In 2017, Épilepsie Granby et Région celebrated its 30th anniversary by changing its identity and becoming Épilepsie Montérégie. The territory was expanded, so the organization now covers the vast and populous Montérégie region.
Épilepsie Montérégie proudly displays its new logo and still has the same mission: to serve people living with epilepsy and their loved ones.
